It's important to be familiar with the bow hunting laws in Texas. Some of the important things to know are:
1. Crossbows are not allowed for hunting migratory game.
2. No bows or crossbows in muzzeloader season.
3. Only those licensed to carry a concealed weapon may carry one. Other concealed carry permits are not recognized, though you may carry a gun in your vehicle.
4. Bow and crossbows may be used to hunt non-game, unprotected animals.
5. Bows must have a minimum 40 pound draw for all animals except squirrel.
6. Bows with full or partial draw locks are legal during any lawful bow season.
7. Crossbows with telescopic sights may be used to hunt game animals except migratory game birds, during open and turkey season.
8. Those who can not use a regular bow due to the loss of a hand or arm may use a crossbow to hunt deer and turkey during the archery only open seasons and the Eastern spring turkey season.
Along with knowing and understanding the Texas bow hunting laws, a hunter must practice utmost safety in the field; be sure to dress in camouflage with orange visible to other hunters. With these few tips and laws in mind, a hunter can get started planning his Texas bow hunting adventure.

Shooting a .22 in Australia ?
I have a firearms licence and i live on 50 acres if I shot some targets with my .22 in the very middle of my 50 acres would that be against the law? And if the cops were called and it was illegal what would I be charged with? And if it's not illegal could I shoot something that is bigger than a .22? And does anyone know the hunting laws in Australia like what caliber I can use and where I can do it and things like that.

Where should I go for a December hunting trip?
Let me ask this again, since someone didn't like it before. And, if you don't like the question, please keep it to yourself. We are interested in a specific experience, but will be following hunting laws and regulations, so get over it.
Where should I go for a hunting trip in later December with my friend to celebrate both our weddings..
We are looking for an exciting, high action trip. Please don't read this to mean that we are looking for a slaughter fest or unsporting type hunts. We are looking more for a warm (we are from the NE), more social, and active trip. Since the main purpose is to spend time together, we'd prefer not to be sitting in deer stands by ourselves all day (we do this on our own where we live).
We are thinking about hog hunting in either texas of florida or possibly dove hunting in Texas. With hog hunts, I've seen two types of hunts offered. Some people just charge for access to their land, and you can take any hogs you can find, and others than charge kill fees. Are the no kill fee lease typically productive, or are they over hunted.
